SPECIALIST EDUCATOR
With 18 years of experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Geography in the State and Independent Sectors, I offer high-quality and personalised Geography tuition for students of all levels. Whether you are preparing for GCSE, or A-Level or International Baccalaureate, I help with focussed revision and examination techniques borne out of years of guiding students to exam success.
In addition, my extensive experience of pastoral support across all stages of secondary school life, means I am familiar with the pressures that examinations can bring and am able to provide appropriate strategies that will help your child navigate their academic study and revision in a diligent, yet calm manner.
EXPERIENCED AND QUALIFIED
After graduating with a BA in Geography from Exeter University and completing my Teaching qualification at Bristol University I have taught in a number of schools including a large comprehensive school in Hounslow and most recently an Independent school in Surrey. In addition I have been a Head of Department and Teaching and Learning Coordinator, primarily supporting teachers in the use of digital tools, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent hybrid teaching.
PASSION TO IMPART
Through widespread travel that includes hiking across glaciers in North America; touring the Middle East including Syria (pre-Civil War) and the UAE; hitch-hiking through Sub-Saharan Africa; expeditions to Iceland, Ethiopia, Mongolia and China; as well as backpacking through Australia and New Zealand, I have developed a first-hand awe and fascination with the world around us and a love of Geography. These experiences have led me to not only desire to impart the skills for exam success, but also to inspire students to engage more critically in the world around them.
